Greg Ross and others have made a garden of Eden here; just a walk through the delicate and brilliant maples, apple trees heavy with fruit, bonsai with deep character, the many flourishing grasses and flowers along the paths of the nursery will make you slow down, breathe deeply and appreciate all the care and knowledge that is shared with you by Greg with any purchase you may choose to make there. Fat rasberries, brilliant fall foliage; native plants, trees and shrubs and floral perfumes are some of what you will take take home in memory, as well as the creation and guidance for proper care of the same in your own garden. Fantastic market with all the ingredients for authentic and flavorful Mexican food. Also, La Bamba's cafe-restaurant prepares made-to-order Mexican dishes with lots of variety - fresh, hot and truly tasty a la carte items and full plates - all at great prices. Phone cards, pre-paid phone services, domestic and international calling all offered at the lowest prices. Store offers a fresh meat counter, wide assortment of south-of-border fruits, vegetables, cheeses, tortillas, breads, candies and spices. La Bamba makes a great fresh-roasted chile relleno. Fresh, organic produce and other ingredients, fair trade and organic condiments, Big River coffee, vegetarian and vegan options. Free range meats and eggs. We can't say enough good about Tony and Lisa who own (Maitre de and Chef, respectively) the restaurant and all who work there - and all the good nurturing they have provided so many of us over the years.

Created with the late Bonnie Sanger - from website subscriptions, to online store, to local events - and continuing under the caring attention and energies of Pattie DeMatteo and James Maxwell. Enjoy ongoing fresh and traditional Mendocino entertainment arts with fine music, poetry and storytelling - yep, there are some good stories; you can't make this stuff up! Events presented at the Mendocino Hotel and the Hill House in Mendocino regularly offer intimate, close-up and excellent early evening performances, food and libations; camaraderie, art, music and dance; salsa, swing, rock, original, folk, local and beyond. First and last gasoline stop for quite some distances, especially headed south along Highway One. Propane available. Deli with broad menu and made to order sandwiches, coffee, espresso and smoothies. Full range of groceries including asian, gourmet and organic foods and local produce. Crackers, sodas, juices, cheese, picnic supplies and most everything you can want or need day to day. The Albion Farmers Market. Most Sundays, outdoors, in Albion just off Highway One on Albion Ridge road to the left, by the store and post office and just before the tea house. Local produce including potatoes, kale, peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, squash, leeks, onions, starts, apples, berries, wild muhrooms, jams and more. Handmade local soaps, flowers and bouquets, some crafts, occasional baked goods, and a friendly fun time. Tea tastings as well just uphill at the tea house and sometimes the farmers when the weather is wet.
